Carl S. Whitaker

Hendersonville - Carl S. Whitaker, 83, of Transylvania County, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Park Ridge Hospital.

A native

of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Edgar and Edith Sitton Whitaker, and husband to the late Jacqueline McCall Whitaker who died in March 2010. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Allen and June McCall.

He retired from Ecusta after 39 years of service. He loved gardening and as he put it Loved to be Productive. He enjoyed to be with friends and family.

Survivor include, three children, Lynne Cox, Sidney Whitaker and Karen Parker and her husband, TR; three grandsons, Brent Cox and his wife, Amanda, Chance and Cody Parker; two great-grandsons, Blake and Will Cox; and several nieces and nephews and many special cousins.

The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Whitaker Moore Cemetery, with Steve Oxner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Carl's picnic shed. The family request everyone come dressed comfortable.
