Faye H. Merrill

Fairview - Faye Huntley Merrill, 84, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2010, at Fleshers Fairview Healthcare Center.

A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Bertha Justus Huntley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Robert Merrill, who died in 2005.

Faye was a member of Emma's Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed nature and spending time in her garden. Faye was very passionate about her home and family.

She is survived by her son, Robert Douglas Merrill and his wife, Christina, of Fairview; three grandchildren, Henry Lawrence, Adam Richard and Lily Faye, all of Fairview; three sisters, Marie Fite of Fairview, Katherine Allison of Asheville and Louise Early of Lake Lure; one brother, Wm. W. Bud Huntley of Fairview; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Emma's Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the church, with the Revs. Wade Huntley and Charles Rogers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
