Fred Turner

Asheville - Fred James Turner, 87, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord on Monday February 8, 2010. A native of Greer, S.C., he was the son of the late Newton and Eleanore Wilson Turner. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years Ruth Belle Turner. He retired from the City of Asheville after 32 years of service. Surviving are his loving daughters, Wanda Watson, Teresa Gaddy and Freda Burrell, all of Asheville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 7 pm Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the West Asheville Church of God, of which he was a faithful member. The Rev. Frankie Tyson will be officiating.
