Elmer ‘Leon' Fox

Swannanoa - Elmer Leon Fox, 64, of 159 W. Buckeye Rd., passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010.

Mr. Fox was born June 14, 1945 in Yancey County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He was owner and operator of Fox Towing and Welding Service in Swannanoa for the past 40 years. Leon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Flora Johnson Fox and three siblings.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Judy Allison Fox; daughters, Melissa Gregory, Darlene Banks (James) and Connie Halford (Marshall); son, Michael Kelly Fox; sisters, Annette Reagan, Marian McMahan, Juanita Bishop and Betty Gragg; brothers, Arrlie and Howard Fox; grandchildren, Madelyn, Jay, Heath, Brandy, Lisa and Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010, in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals, with the Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.., Wednesday at the funeral home.
