Dorothy Clark

Denton, N.C. - Dorothy Lee Brown Clark, 92, of 157 Carroll Avenue, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.

A native of Madison County, Mrs. Clark worked as a nurse's aide at Memorial Mission Hospital and retired from Klopman Mills on June 2, 1980. She was a member of The Church of God in Waynesville. Mrs. Clark enjoyed homemaking, working in her garden, cooking, canning, and making quilts for her family.

She was the daughter of the late James Horace and Lula Magnolia Moore Brown, and the wife of the late Rev. Ephram Luther Clark. Mrs. Clark was also preceded in death by a daughter, Eunice Magnolia Aldridge; grandson, James Fred Jimmy Clark Jr.; two granddaughters, Beverly Jean Clark and Cynthia Ann Clark; great-granddaughter, Heather Clark; four sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are her sons, James Fred Clark of Denton, Rev. David L. Clark and wife, Judy, of Leicester, and Ben Oliver Clark of Staley, N.C.; son-in-law, David Aldridge of Waynesville; sisters, Belvie King and husband, Gordon, of Leicester and Artie Johnson of Cullman, Ala.; brother, Everett Brown of Cruso, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Revs. David L. Clark, Daryl Clark and Mark Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
