Bobby West

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of Hominy Independent Church. He was a retired firefighter with Upper Hominy Fire Department and a member of GWRRA Chapter #G2. He was the son of the late Doyce Lang and Grace Watts West.

Surviving are his wife, Stella Anders West of the home; daughters, Brenda McClure of Jacksonville, Fla., Karen Thomas of Asheville and Ellen Hensley of Candler; sons, Leonard West and Kenneth West, both of Candler; brother, Billy Ray West of Douglas, Ga.; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a large extended family.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Austin Watts and Rick McCarson officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
