John William "Bill" Craig, 76, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at Mission Hospitals, St. Joseph Campus.He was a native and resident of Buncombe County but grew up in Haywood County. He was a son of the late William McKinley and Pearl E. Best Craig and was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Annette Hardin Craig, who died in 1998. Mr. Craig was employed by American Enka Corporation for 43 years, was a member of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church and a United States Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. He is survived by three sons, Tony Craig and his wife, Lesia, Jeff Craig and Stephen Craig and his wife, Faye, all of Candler; two brothers, Charles Craig and his wife, Katherine, of Canton and Tommy Craig and his wife, Peggy, of Candler; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Roy Houston officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
